Daniella Ehrlich, is an Australian Mezzo Soprano. She has perfomed with Welsh National Opera, Almeida, Aldeburgh Festival, Holland Park Opera,
Aix-en-Provence Festival, Opera Australia, Brooklyn Opera, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra, Sydney Festival, Jeunesse Musicales World Youth Choir, Israel Vocal Arts Institute, International Vocal Arts Chiari, Australian Acrobatic Spectacular and Stars on Ice, Divas Incognito, Singers for Hire and Operacatz.
Her roles include Carmen and Mercedes (Carmen), Dodo (The Merry Widow), Flora (La Traviata), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Mary Magdalene (Infinito Nero ), Tolomeo (Giulio Cesare), Bertarido (Rodelinda), Forrester's Wife, Owl, Chicken (Cunning Little Vixen), Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte), Hansel, Third Maid (Elektra), Polly (Beggars Opera), Second and Third Lady (Magic Flute), Melanto and Ericlea (Ritorno dUlisse) and L'Enfant (L'Enfant et les Sortileges).
On the concert platform she has performed Beethoven Ninth Symphony, Mozart Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Dvorak and Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Handel Messiah and has given recitals in Australia, USA, Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany and Spain.
Daniella has a Masters of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in
New York and a Bachelor of Music and Diploma of Opera from
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She teaches piano and singing to students of all ages and has recently also began to teach pilates.
In 2004, she made her UK debut with Almeida Theatre Company and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in a one woman opera called Infinito Nero by Salvatore Sciarrino and also performed roles in 3 operas
as part of the Genesis Opera Projects in assosciation with Alderburgh Festival.
Daniella was part of the fulltime chorus with Welsh National Opera from 2004-2008 and made her debut as principal artist as Maddalena in Rigoletto.
She then went on to sing the roles of Maddalena and Giovanna in Opera Novella's tour of Rigoletto and the title role of Carmen at Malvern Theatre, UK
In 2012, Daniella returned home to Sydney Australia and has since performed with Opera Australia both at the Opera House and on the Harbour Stage, most recently covering the role of Mercedes in Carmen.
Daniella is also the director of Ariapilates in Paddington and Double bay, Sydney, where she teaches pilates, piano and singing, and has other instructors and therpaists there offering massage, Gyrotonics, and yoga.
